Who Knows Best?
(Element 4: The Priesthood / Experts)

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
(1 Peter 2:9)

Every Worldview has a small number of men and women who are considered to be the experts or the masters of the system. This “Priesthood” exists to keep the “in-group” in order and to spread both the Master Story and the Values that lead the group to submit to the knowledge and wisdom of the Ultimate Source of Reality. 

The Priests/Experts/Masters are “Cultural gate-keepers”—the group of experts that explain what is “in / acceptable” or “out / unacceptable” based on their deeper understanding of the ultimate source of truth revealed in the Master Story.

The “Priesthood” also interprets the Trusted Media for the group to help everyone understand and commit to the core ideas and images of the Worldview. This Priesthood is trusted because we all need help to figure out the difficult issues of life.

Questions to Ponder:

1. Who have been the most influential teachers in my life?
2. When I need help, who do I turn to first?
3. When I have a hard life choice, who do I turn to for advice?
4. Who do I trust most in helping me navigate life?
5. Who am I following?
6. Who is my Master?
