Day 90: Who Is The Holy Spirit?

By Stacy Tyson | 2024-07-07

John 16:7
But I (Jesus) tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I am going away. For if I do not go away, The Advocate/Witness will not come to you, but if I go, I will send Him to you.

Many followers of The Way, Christians, have never been taught a biblical view of the Holy Spirit. There is a lot of confusion regarding who He is and what he is doing. It is important to know and understand the reality of the Spirit’s ministry to us because His presence in us connects us vitally to the life of the Father and Son. He also empowers us to so that we can engage our daily battles with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead!

Day 89: Who Are The Rulers And Authorities That Have Been Stripped And Shamed??

By Stacy Tyson | 2024-07-03

Colossians 2:13-16
And even though you were dead in your transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, He nevertheless made you alive with Him, having forgiven all your transgressions. He has destroyed what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross. Disarming the rulers and authorities, He has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

In our final reading for the week, we continue to talk about some “big picture” ideas we will be exploring over the next weeks. Today we briefly discuss the “rulers and authorities” that have been stripped and shamed and what that means for us. (It is interesting that today is July 4th when we Americans celebrate our independence and our theme is freedom!)

Today, we consider one of the strangest passages in Paul’s writings. Father God, working in Christ, has set us free in every possible sense. When we understand what Paul is saying in this section of his letter to the Colossians, we will gain deeper insight into all that Christ has done to truly set us free from all that enslaves us.

Day 87: How Do We Recognize Enslaving Philosophies?

By Stacy Tyson | 2024-07-01

There are many false teachers and false teachings in our time. There have been untrustworthy leaders and teachers in every era of history since the beginning. We must be very careful not to get ensnared by these types of teachings that move us away from the foundation of The Scriptures and our focus on Christ.

Day 86: How Do We Live Rooted In Christ?

By Stacy Tyson | 2024-06-30

Colossians 2:6
…just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him…

Living “in Christ” is a simple process of following Him in hope, trust and love. Following Him is not always easy, but The Way is not complicated. In this NEW unit, we are going to be focusing on growing spiritually mature In Christ. As we begin to follow Him more closely, we will become more AWARE and AWAKE to the reality of the Spiritual War going on around us and in us. Father God desires for us to be truly FREE in Christ. In order to engage these battles effectively, we need to know all that has been given to us and done for us in Christ that guarantees our victory.
