There are many false teachers and false teachings in our time. There have been untrustworthy leaders and teachers in every era of history since the beginning. We must be very careful not to get ensnared by these types of teachings that move us away from the foundation of The Scriptures and our focus on Christ.

Colossians 2:6
…just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him…
Living “in Christ” is a simple process of following Him in hope, trust and love. Following Him is not always easy, but The Way is not complicated. In this NEW unit, we are going to be focusing on growing spiritually mature In Christ. As we begin to follow Him more closely, we will become more AWARE and AWAKE to the reality of the Spiritual War going on around us and in us. Father God desires for us to be truly FREE in Christ. In order to engage these battles effectively, we need to know all that has been given to us and done for us in Christ that guarantees our victory.

Today is not only our final reading of the week, it is the last reading from the Third Section of MilktoMeat. We are are half-way through! We think about where we have come from and also where we are heading in the last half of our readings.
2 Corinthians 5:17
So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;
what is old has passed away–look, what is new has come!
In Christ, we have truly been set free. The question before us is not, “Are we really free?”—We are! The real question is, “What will we do with our freedom?” Do we love our Master enough to trust Him if we give up our “freedom” for Him and turn our freedom over to Him?

Today we are going to take a step back and look at the “big picture.” We are going to look at some key, core truths that flow out of all that we have been discussing in this study. Our identity is shaped by those we are in relationship with. Father God has worked in Christ through the Holy Spirit to love us, empower us, accept us and set us free.

Colossians 3:2-3
“Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
In Christ, we are deeply loved, fully accepted, empowered, and truly set free. It is important to understand all that has been given to us “In Christ.” These blessings shape the way we live as we walk with Christ and grow to become more like Him.
