The Psalms

truth-seekers-fellowship-psalms

The Psalms are the prayers, lamentations, and praises of Ancient Israel. They shape the thoughts, emotions and desires of all who are called into an deep personal relationship with the Lord-God—YHWH. Jesus believed that the Psalms spoke of Him (Luke 24:44). The Apostles used the Psalms in the early church to prove Jesus’ identity as THE Messiah (see Acts 2:22-36). For over two thousand years these poems, songs and liturgies have shaped the shared life of the people of God. The Psalms call us to ponder the wisdom, power and holiness of our Great God and Savior. They call us up and out of the pits of present reality to the future where The LORD’s righteousness will be displayed through His people and especially through The Davidic King Jesus appointed to reign from Zion.
