1 Samuel 11 | 27:1-29:11
Realizing that Saul will not relent in trying to kill him, David goes – once again – to Achish in Gath. This time, the Philistine King takes David in because he is a fugitive outlaw. David deceives Achish in his intentions in order to accomplish his own purposes. In the meantime, Saul consults a medium at Endor to gain knowledge – a sin clearly forbidden in the Torah. This will be the last rebellious act of Saul as Samuel who is brought up from the Dead tells him that he and his sons would die in the next day’s battle and the kingdom would be handed over to David.
