Adam’s choice to listen to another voice rather than the voice of the Lord had disastrous consequences. Because Adam choose to rebel against God, he brought the power sin, death and condemnation into the human experience.
(more…)We continue to address the question, “What Went Wrong?” The Lord God gave the first Man – Adam – the responsibility of overseeing and protecting the Garden in Eden. Yet when faced with an “alternative option” to the Lord’s instruction, The Man chooses to listen to someone other than the voice of the CREATOR.
(more…)Today, we begin to deal with the question, “What Went Wrong?” If we want to understand all the violence, hatred, chaos, and confusion that exists in our world (and in us) we need to understand the reality of the choices that the first man Adam made. Adam is not a mythological figure from the land of make-believe; He was the first human, the physical “father” of us all, and the choices that he made have had devastating consequences for us all.

Today we consider how we human beings fit into the larger, Master Story. As we have heard so far, we were created to BE the One True God’s image and likeness in Creation. But He also created us to have a relationship with Him.

For you [LORD] formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
Today we return to one of the “tools” that we discussed earlier – the circles that represent our Divine Design as human beings. Having a visual way to think about who we are – both physically and spiritually – well help us illustrate some key ideas that we will be discussing in the coming weeks.
(more…)Today we begin the readings from our workbook Enlightened by the Gospel. In this section, we are going to be exploring the question, “Why is the Message about Jesus Good News?” In order to answer this question we need to go back to the beginning. We need to know what the Lord God created us – humanity – in the first place. As we will hear, the One True God designed us—humanity—to be His image and likeness in His Creation. We were designed and created to hold a unique and significant place in Father-God’s plans and purposes.
