Day 003: What is Jesus Calling Us To?

By Stacy Tyson | 2025-02-05

As we have already discussed briefly, Jesus is calling us into His Kingdom. When that Kingdom comes in full, everything will be set right, all things will be healed, all things will be made new.

But here is the catch: the only people who will be able to live joyously in this Kingdom are those who can submit to the Truth, Goodness, and Glory of God in this present life. The truth of The Kingdom of God calls us to change the way we think about everything. That is what Jesus is asking us to do when He says, “Repent and believe the Gospel!”

Day 002: Why Jesus is Central to All Things?

By Stacy Tyson | 2025-02-04

As we move through these readings together, you will see that we are often discussing truths related to our PAST and also our FUTURE. Understanding the PAST helps us to get our bearings in terms of where we have come from. Looking to the FUTURE helps to see where we are going. From this Past>Future perspective we are able to understand our present. What we will discover is that Jesus is at the beginning of things and He is at the end of things. Knowing Him is vitally important to understanding what life is really about.

Day 001: Beginning with the End in Sight

The Search for Meaning

“Our greatest desire, greater even than the desire for happiness,
is that our lives mean something.”

Daniel Taylor, Tell Me A Story

If you study the history of humanity, you cannot miss seeing our restless, unending, search for meaning in life. In order to make sense of life, we all must find the answers to three foundational questions: Where did I come from? Why am I here on earth? Where am I going? This search for meaning drives scientists to probe earth and sky looking for answers, while philosophers formulate complex systems of thought to explain our origin, our purpose, and our destiny. Everyone wants to know the truth. But what is The Truth regarding our origin, our existence, our purpose, and very importantly, our ultimate destination?

Even If…

By Jill Tyson | 2025-01-01

The year 2024, for the Tyson family, wasn’t the best of years. It was a year of stress – financial stress, emotional stress, physical stress. It’s been a year of heartbreak and sorrow where some relationships are concerned. It’s been a season of dealing with health scares and, for me, learning to manage some chronic issues (while losing 25 pounds in the process – a terrific weight loss plan that I will never, ever recommend to anyone! 😂). Add to that a “little” emergency surgery for our daughter at the beginning of her junior year, and the subsequent medical costs, and you have yourself a “terrible, horrible, no good, very bad” year.

Advent Day 25: The Word Became Flesh

By Stacy Tyson | 2024-12-25

Today, we light the Green, Black, Blue, Gold and White Candles. The Green Candle represents life and all that Father God created in Christ, Good and Whole. The Black Candle represents the Evil and Corruption of Sin that entered our World through our rebellion. The Blue candle represents the Hope that comes from the Promises of a future Savior and King. The Gold candle represents the birth of the long expected King and Savior. The White Candle represents the Birth of the King and the Hope of His coming Kingdom.

John 1:14
And The Word became flesh and dwelt among us,
and we have seen His glory,
Glory as of the only Son from the Father,
full of grace and truth.
